Summary:
This
book uniquely introduce the concepts of shapes and the different things we can
make using shapes. It Shows our uses for shapes in our every day life that we
would not think of. Turning a square into a house or a diamond into a kite. It
even rhymes to help grasp the children’s attention. One page shows the shape
while the other page shows the new creation using the shape and in some cases
many shapes to make up one thing. At the end of the story, there’s a carnival
showing many different shapes.
Rating:
This
book should be rated 5 stars. It can be used with many different ages, and can
show each age group something different. It is not only for math, but can be
used with art as well. It can bring out the artistic in a child.
Classroom Ideas:
1.
Children can use
shapes to create models (robots, houses, etc.) similar to in the book.
2.
Children can
identify the amount of sides shapes have and their names.
3.
Children can sort
shapes.
